Kung Pao Chicken 🍗🔥
Ingredients:
Meat & Marinade:
1 lb chicken thighs, cut into bite-sized pieces 🍗
1 tbsp cornstarch
1 tbsp soy sauce
1 tsp sherry wine 🍷
Sauce:
3 tbsp soy sauce 🧂
1 tbsp balsamic vinegar
1 tbsp honey 🍯
2 tbsp hoisin sauce
1 tsp sesame oil
1/2 tsp black pepper
1/2 tsp chili flakes 🌶️
Other Ingredients:
4 cloves garlic, minced 🧄
3 green onions, cut into 2-inch pieces 🧅
6 dried chilis 🌶️
1/2 cup chopped bell pepper 🫑
1/3 cup chopped peanuts 🥜
2 tbsp vegetable oil 🛢️
Instructions:
1️⃣ Marinate the Chicken:
In a bowl, combine chicken, cornstarch, soy sauce, and sherry wine. Mix well to coat the chicken evenly. Set aside while you prepare the other ingredients.
2️⃣ Prepare the Sauce:
In a separate bowl, combine all the sauce ingredients (soy sauce, balsamic vinegar, honey, hoisin sauce, sesame oil, black pepper, chili flakes). Stir well and set aside.
3️⃣ Stir-Fry the Vegetables:
Heat vegetable oil in a large pan or wok over medium-high heat. Add the dried chilis and chopped bell pepper. Stir-fry for 1-2 minutes until the chilis become fragrant.
4️⃣ Cook the Chicken:
Add the marinated chicken to the pan. Stir-fry for about 4 minutes, until the chicken is mostly cooked through.
5️⃣ Add Garlic:
Stir in the minced garlic and cook for an additional minute until fragrant.
6️⃣ Add the Sauce:
Pour the prepared sauce into the pan. Stir well to coat the chicken and vegetables. Let it cook for 2-3 minutes until the sauce thickens slightly.
7️⃣ Final Touches:
Add the green onions and chopped peanuts. Stir everything together and cook for another minute.
8️⃣ Serve:
