Garlic Butter Steak Rice Bowl

Ingredients:

1 lb sirloin steak, cut into 1-inch thick slices
1 tbsp olive oil
1 tbsp butter
4 cloves garlic, minced
1/2 cup dry sherry (optional, can substitute with beef broth)
1/4 cup chopped fresh parsley
Salt and freshly ground black pepper to taste
2 cups cooked rice (any kind you prefer)
1 cup broccoli florets
1/2 cup sliced mushrooms
1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese (optional)

Instructions:

1. Season the steak slices generously with salt and pepper on both sides.
2. Heat the olive oil and butter in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Once the butter is melted and foaming, add the steak slices to the skillet. Sear for 2-3 minutes per side, until nicely browned. Remove the steak from the skillet and set aside.
3. Add the minced garlic to the skillet and cook for about 30 seconds, until fragrant. Be careful not to burn the garlic.
4. If using sherry, pour it into the skillet and scrape up any browned bits from the bottom. Let it simmer for about a minute, allowing the alcohol to cook off slightly. If not using sherry, add 1/4 cup of beef broth instead.
5. Add the broccoli florets and sliced mushrooms to the skillet. Cook for 3-5 minutes, or until the vegetables are tender-crisp.
6. Return the seared steak slices to the skillet. Stir to combine the steak with the garlic butter sauce and vegetables.
7. Reduce the heat to low and simmer for another 2-3 minutes, allowing the flavors to meld.
8. Stir in the chopped parsley.
9. To serve, spoon cooked rice into bowls. Top with the steak and vegetable mixture. Sprinkle with grated Parmesan cheese, if desired. Serve immediately and enjoy!
