Hoisin Beef & Vegetable Bowls

Ingredients:

1 lb beef sirloin steak, thinly sliced
1 tbsp cornstarch
1 tbsp soy sauce
1 tbsp hoisin sauce
1 tbsp sesame oil
1 tsp grated ginger
1 clove garlic, minced
1 red bell pepper, sliced
1 green bell pepper, sliced
1 small onion, sliced
1 cup broccoli florets
1 cup snow peas
1/2 cup cooked rice, per bowl
Optional: sesame seeds, chopped green onions for garnish

Instructions:

1. In a medium bowl, combine cornstarch, soy sauce, hoisin sauce, sesame oil, ginger, and garlic. Add the sliced beef and toss to coat, ensuring all the beef is evenly coated in the marinade. Let it marinate for at least 15 minutes, or longer for a more intense flavor.

2. Heat a large wok or skillet over medium-high heat. Add the marinated beef and stir-fry until browned and cooked through, about 5-7 minutes. Remove the cooked beef from the wok and set aside.

3. Add the sliced bell peppers and onion to the wok and stir-fry for 3-4 minutes, until slightly softened.

4. Add the broccoli and snow peas to the wok and continue stir-frying for another 2-3 minutes, until the vegetables are crisp-tender.

5. Return the cooked beef to the wok and stir to combine with the vegetables.

6. Serve the beef and vegetable mixture over cooked rice in individual bowls.

7. Garnish with sesame seeds and chopped green onions, if desired.

Notes:

You can adjust the amount of hoisin sauce to your liking. If you prefer a less sweet flavor, reduce the amount.
Feel free to add other vegetables to the bowls, such as carrots, mushrooms, or zucchini.
For a spicier dish, add a pinch of red pepper flakes to the marinade or to the wok while stir-frying the vegetables.
Leftovers can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. Reheat gently before serving.
