🛒 Ingredients
2 boneless chicken breasts 🍗
1 tbsp olive oil 🫒
1/2 tsp garlic powder 🧄

1/2 cup basmati or long-grain rice 🍚
1 cup water
1/2 tsp salt
200 g broccoli florets 🥦
For the cheese sauce:
1 tbsp butter 🧈
1 tbsp all-purpose flour
200 ml milk 🥛
80 g cheddar cheese, grated 🧀
1/2 tsp mustard (optional)
Fresh thyme or parsley for garnish 🌿
👨🍳 Instructions
Cook rice: Rinse rice and place in a pot with water and salt. Bring to a boil, cover, and simmer for 12–15 minutes until fluffy.
Steam broccoli: Steam broccoli florets for 5–6 minutes until bright green and tender.
Grill chicken: Rub chicken breasts with olive oil, garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Grill or pan-fry 5–6 minutes per side until cooked through. Rest, then slice.
Make cheese sauce: Melt butter in a saucepan. Stir in flour and cook for 1 minute. Gradually whisk in milk until smooth. Add cheddar and mustard, stirring until melted and creamy.
Assemble bowl: Place rice in bowls, top with broccoli and grilled chicken slices. Spoon cheese sauce generously over the chicken.
Serve hot: Garnish with fresh thyme or parsley.
