The Classic Cookie, Now in Bar Form!
π Ingredients:
1 cup all-purpose flour
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
3/4 cup creamy peanut butter
1/2 cup granulated sugar
1/2 cup packed brown sugar
1 large egg
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
2/3 cup milk chocolate chips

1. Prep the Oven:
Preheat your oven to 350Β°F (177Β°C). Grease a 9Γ13-inch baking pan and set it aside.
2. Mix the Dry Ingredients:
In a small bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt.
3. Cream the Butters and Sugars:
In a larger bowl, beat the softened butter and peanut butter until smooth and creamy. Add the granulated and brown sugars, then beat until the mixture is light and fluffy.
4. Add the Egg and Vanilla:
Mix in the egg and vanilla extract until everything is well combined.
5. Combine Wet and Dry Ingredients:
Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, mixing until just combined.
6. Fold in Chocolate Chips:
Gently fold in the milk chocolate chips, spreading them evenly throughout the dough.
7. Bake the Bars:
Press the dough into your prepared baking pan, spreading it out evenly. Bake for 20-22 minutes, or until the edges are golden brown.
8. Add Hersheyβs Kisses:
As soon as you take the bars out of the oven, gently press a Hersheyβs Kiss into the top of each bar while theyβre still hot.
9. Cool & Slice:
Let the bars cool completely in the pan before slicing them into squares.
