Do you like Chinese Beef and Onion Stir Fry ?

Ingredients:

1 lb (450g) flank steak, thinly sliced against the grain

1 large onion, sliced

2 tbsp vegetable oil

2 cloves garlic, minced

1-inch piece ginger, grated

2 tbsp soy sauce

1 tbsp oyster sauce

1 tbsp hoisin sauce

1 tbsp cornstarch

1/2 tsp white pepper

1 tbsp Shaoxing wine (or dry sherry)

1/2 tsp sugar

1/4 cup beef broth (or water)

1 tsp sesame oil

2 green onions, chopped (for garnish)

Cooked rice, for serving

Directions:

In a bowl, toss the sliced beef with soy sauce, oyster sauce, hoisin sauce, cornstarch, white pepper, and Shaoxing wine. Let it marinate for 15 minutes.

Heat 1 tbsp vegetable oil in a large pan or wok over high heat. Add the beef and stir-fry for 2-3 minutes until browned. Remove and set aside.

In the same pan, add another tbsp of oil. Stir-fry the sliced onions, garlic, and ginger for 2 minutes until fragrant and slightly softened.

Return the beef to the pan, add the sugar and beef broth, and stir well to coat everything in the sauce. Let it simmer for 1-2 minutes until the sauce thickens.

Drizzle with sesame oil and toss to combine.

Garnish with chopped green onions and serve hot with steamed rice.
