Sweet & Savory One-Skillet Creamy Honey BBQ Steak with Rice

Ingredients:

For the Steak:
1.5 lbs sirloin steak, cut into 1-inch cubes
1 tbsp olive oil
1 tsp smoked paprika
1/2 tsp garlic powder
1/4 tsp cayenne pepper (optional, for a kick!)
Salt and freshly ground black pepper to taste
For the Rice:
1 cup long-grain white rice
2 cups chicken broth
1 tbsp butter
1/2 tsp salt
For the Honey BBQ Sauce:
1/2 cup BBQ sauce (your favorite brand!)
2 tbsp honey
1 tbsp apple cider vinegar
1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
1 tsp Dijon mustard
For the Creamy Finish:
1/2 cup heavy cream
1/4 cup chopped fresh parsley
2 tbsp butter

Directions:

Get Started: Season the steak cubes with smoked paprika, garlic powder, cayenne pepper (if using), salt, and pepper. Make sure every piece is nicely coated!
Sear the Steak: Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the steak cubes in a single layer (you might need to do this in batches to avoid overcrowding) and sear for 2-3 minutes per side, until browned. Remove the steak from the skillet and set aside. Don't worry about cooking it all the way through just yet!
Cook the Rice: Add the rice, chicken broth, butter, and salt to the same skillet. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat to low, cover, and simmer for 15-20 minutes, or until the rice is cooked through and the liquid is absorbed.
Make the Honey BBQ Sauce: While the rice is cooking, in a small bowl, whisk together the BBQ sauce, honey, apple cider vinegar, Worcestershire sauce, and Dijon mustard. Set aside.
Combine and Simmer: Once the rice is cooked, gently stir in the seared steak and the honey BBQ sauce. Bring to a simmer and cook for another 5-7 minutes, allowing the sauce to thicken slightly and the steak to finish cooking to your desired doneness.
Creamy Finish: Stir in the heavy cream and butter. Cook for another minute or two, until the sauce is creamy and heated through.
Garnish and Serve: Sprinkle with fresh parsley and serve immediately. Enjoy every last bite!
