🇫🇷 Blanquette de Veau 🥩🥕
A classic French veal stew with a creamy white sauce, tender meat, and vegetables for a comforting dish!
Ingredients:
600g veal, cubed
1 carrot, sliced
1 onion, chopped
200g mushrooms, sliced
2 cloves garlic, minced
500ml beef broth
100ml heavy cream
2 tbsp butter
1 tbsp flour
1 bay leaf
1 tsp salt
1/2 tsp black pepper
Instructions:
In a pot, melt butter and brown the veal. Remove and set aside.
Sauté onions, garlic, carrots, and mushrooms until soft.
Sprinkle flour over the vegetables and stir well.
Add beef broth, bay leaf, salt, and pepper. Stir and bring to a simmer.
Return veal to the pot, cover, and cook for 1 hour.
Stir in heavy cream, cook for another 5 minutes.
Serve hot with rice or mashed potatoes.
