Reese’s Peanut Butter Earthquake Cake

Ingredients:

1 box (15.25 ounces) yellow cake mix
1/2 cup vegetable oil
4 large eggs
1 cup milk
1 cup creamy peanut butter
1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
1 cup Reese's Peanut Butter Cups, coarsely chopped
1 cup powdered sugar
1/4 cup milk

Instructions:

1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a 9x13 inch baking pan. You can also line it with parchment paper for easier removal.

2. In a large bowl, combine the yellow cake mix, vegetable oil, eggs, and 1 cup of milk. Beat with an electric mixer on medium speed for 2 minutes. The batter will be thick.

3. Stir in the peanut butter until it's evenly distributed throughout the batter. Be sure to scrape the sides and bottom of the bowl to incorporate all of the peanut butter.

4. Gently fold in the semi-sweet chocolate chips and the coarsely chopped Reese's Peanut Butter Cups. Don't overmix; you want some of the candies to remain whole for added texture and visual appeal.

5. Pour the batter into the prepared baking pan and spread it evenly.

6. Bake for 30-35 minutes, or until a wooden skewer inserted into the center comes out clean. Keep an eye on it after 30 minutes as ovens can vary.

7. While the cake is baking, prepare the powdered sugar glaze. In a small bowl, whisk together the powdered sugar and 1/4 cup of milk until smooth. You may need to add a tiny bit more milk if it's too thick, or a little more powdered sugar if it's too thin. Aim for a pourable consistency.

8. Once the cake is baked, let it cool in the pan for about 10 minutes before pouring the powdered sugar glaze evenly over the top.

9. Let the glaze set for a few minutes before slicing and serving. The cake is best served warm, but is also delicious at room temperature. Enjoy!
