🍚 French Onion Butter Rice 😋
Ingredients:
1 cup long grain white rice
2 tbsp butter
1 medium onion, thinly sliced
2 cups chicken broth
1/2 tsp garlic powder
1/2 tsp onion powder
Salt and pepper, to taste
1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese (optional)
Fresh parsley, chopped (optional, for garnish)
Instructions:
1️⃣ Cook the Rice:
In a medium saucepan, bring 2 cups of chicken broth to a boil. Add the rice, reduce heat to low, and cover.
Simmer for 15–18 minutes, or until the rice is cooked and the liquid is absorbed. Remove from heat and set aside.
2️⃣ Caramelize the Onion:
While the rice cooks, melt butter in a large skillet over medium heat.
Add the sliced onions and cook, stirring occasionally, for 10–15 minutes until they are golden brown and caramelized.
3️⃣ Combine and Season:
Add the cooked rice to the skillet with the caramelized onions. Stir in garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper. Mix well to combine.
4️⃣ Finish the Dish:
Optional: Stir in grated Parmesan cheese for extra richness and flavor.
Garnish with fresh parsley if desired.
5️⃣ Serve:
Serve warm as a side dish to complement your main meal.
