A delicious dish of pan-seared salmon paired with shrimp, garnished with fresh parsley and served in a flavorful butter sauce.
Ingredients:
For the Salmon:
2 salmon fillets (about 6 oz each)
1 tablespoon olive oil
Salt and pepper, to taste
1 tablespoon fresh parsley (chopped, for garnish)
For the Shrimp:
12 large shrimp (peeled and deveined)
2 tablespoons butter
2 cloves garlic (minced)
1 tablespoon lemon juice
1 teaspoon smoked paprika
Salt and pepper, to taste
For the Butter Sauce:
3 tablespoons butter
1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice
1 teaspoon Dijon mustard (optional for extra flavor)
1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional, for a bit of heat)
Fresh parsley (chopped, for garnish)
Instructions:
1. Cook the Salmon:
Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
Season the salmon fillets with salt and pepper on both sides.
Place the salmon skin-side down in the hot skillet. Sear the fillets for 4-5 minutes on the first side, then flip and cook for another 2-3 minutes, depending on the thickness of the fillet, until the salmon is cooked through and flakes easily. Remove from the pan and set aside.
2. Cook the Shrimp:
In the same skillet, add 2 tablespoons of butter. Once melted, add the garlic and cook for 30 seconds until fragrant.
Add the shrimp to the skillet and season with salt, pepper, and smoked paprika. Sauté for 2-3 minutes on each side until the shrimp are pink and opaque.
Add the lemon juice and stir to coat the shrimp in the sauce. Remove from heat and set aside.
3. Make the Butter Sauce:
In a small saucepan, melt 3 tablespoons of butter over medium heat.
Add lemon juice, Dijon mustard (if using), and red pepper flakes (if desired), stirring to combine. Simmer for 2 minutes until the sauce is slightly thickened. Remove from heat.
4. Assemble the Dish:
Place the cooked salmon fillet on a plate. Arrange the shrimp around the salmon.
Drizzle the butter sauce over the salmon and shrimp.
Garnish with fresh chopped parsley and serve immediately.
Tips:
For extra flavor, you can marinate the shrimp in garlic, lemon, and olive oil for 15-30 minutes before cooking.
Serve this dish with sides like mashed potatoes, rice, or steamed vegetables to complete the meal.
You can also add a squeeze of fresh lemon juice on top of the salmon and shrimp before serving for extra brightness.
