π« Deep-Fried S'mores π«
Ingredients:
For the Filling:
12 large marshmallows
6 tbsp chocolate hazelnut spread (or chopped chocolate bars)
24 graham cracker halves
For the Coating:
1 cup all-purpose flour
1 tsp baking powder
ΒΌ tsp salt
1 cup milk
1 large egg
Vegetable oil, for frying
For Serving:
Powdered sugar, for dusting
Chocolate sauce or caramel sauce (optional, for drizzling)
Instructions:
Prepare the S'more Fillings:
Spread about 1 tablespoon of chocolate hazelnut spread onto each graham cracker half. Top each with a large marshmallow, then sandwich with another graham cracker half to form individual s'mores.
Make the Batter:
In a mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt. Gradually stir in the milk and egg until you have a smooth, thick batter that coats the back of a spoon.
Coat the S'mores:
Dip each assembled s'more into the batter, ensuring itβs fully coated but not overly soaked. Allow any excess batter to drip off before frying.
Fry Until Golden:
Heat about 2 inches of vegetable oil in a deep skillet or fryer to 350Β°F (175Β°C). Carefully place the battered s'mores into the hot oil, working in small batches to avoid overcrowding. Fry for about 2β3 minutes per side, or until the coating is golden brown and crispy.
Drain & Dust:
Remove the fried s'mores from the oil and place them on a plate lined with paper towels to absorb excess grease. Dust generously with powdered sugar while still warm.
Serve Warm:
Arrange the deep-fried s'mores on a serving platter and drizzle with chocolate or caramel sauce if desired. Serve immediately while the coating is crispy and the filling is melty.
Helpful Tips:
To prevent the marshmallows from oozing out during frying, press the graham crackers firmly around the edges to seal them tightly.
Experiment with different fillings, such as peanut butter cups or fruit preserves, for unique variations.
