Chef Kiki’s Kitchen Sink Cookies
Base Cookie
¾ cup granulated sugar
½ cup brown sugar
1 cup butter flavored shortening or butter, cold
1 3 oz package vanilla instant pudding mix - or any flavor that compliments your add-in flavors
2 tsp vanilla or any extract that compliments your add-in flavors
2 large eggs
2 ½ cups all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon baking soda
Cream sugars and shortening (or butter) till smooth, add dry pudding mix and mix till incorporated, add vanilla extract and eggs mixing till smooth. Sift together flour and baking soda, gradually add to wet mixture until incorporated. Start folding in your add-ins!
Using a medium cookie scoop, drop onto a cookie sheet lined with parchment paper. Bake in a pre-heated 350 degree oven for 10 - 14 minutes, or until firm to touch. You'll need to check on them as baking time will vary slightly depending on the size of your cookie and your add-ins, but generally 10 - 14 minutes will do it. Remove from oven and let cool.
If you are adding Sea Salt on top, sprinkle tops as soon as they come out of the oven.
Add ins - ¼ - cup each
These are the add-ins that I generally use, but you can use any combination of things
Milk & dark chocolate chips
White chocolate chips
Raisins
Mini marshmallows
Chopped nuts - I use pecans or walnuts
Crushed potato chips
mini pretzels
The kids especially like this one because they can gather up fun add-ins to make a personalized cookie. You can divide the base dough so everyone can add their own favorite bits to the cookie dough. You can also double the base recipe for bigger groups.
Walmart or Dollar General are great, inexpensive places to pick up fun, silly add-ins for your Kitchen Sink Cookies.
Other ideas for add-ins

Colored sprinkles
I’m sure you are getting the idea now!
