It’s hard to pick one- so here’s 3 of my favorite Filipino Food!

1. Barbecue Skewers- Filipino Style

This is a Filipino style barbecue (skewer). Tender juicy meat with tangy and sweet flavors.

Recipe:
1/2 cup soy sauce
1/2 cup lemon juice or vinegar
1/2 cup ketchup
3 tablespoons dark brown sugar
2 tablespoons garlic powder
1 teaspoon ground black pepper
2 teaspoons salt
1 can lime soda or sprite

*3 pounds meat of your choice (chicken or pork)

Steps:

Add all the marinade ingredients. Mix well. Cover the bowl and marinate your meat of choice for at least 3 hours. Best to marinate it for 24 hrs.

Left over marinade can be use for basting. Warm it in a pan to thicken the sauce. Brush it to your meat while grilling. Serve with rice and coleslaw or pickles. Enjoy!

2. Filipino Lumpiang Shanghai

These eggrolls are so crunchy and savory. Great with sweet chili sauce!

Recipe:
1 pound ground meat of choice
1 small onion, finely chopped
1 clove garlic, minced
1 cup shredded carrots
Salt and pepper to taste
20 egg roll wrappers (thin papers)
Oil for frying

Steps:
In a pan, add the ground meat, onion, and garlic. Cook, stirring frequently, until the beef is cooked. Drain off any excess grease. Add the shredded carrots into the meat mixture and cook for 2 minutes, stirring occasionally. Add salt and pepper to taste. Remove the pan from the heat. Set aside.

Lay an egg roll wrapper on a flat work surface. Place a 1 1/2 tablespoon of the beef mixture on the lower part of the wrapper. Fold the sides in then roll the egg roll wrapper up over the meat filling. Seal the edge with a little water and set aside.
Deep fry the eggrolls till golden brown. Serve with sweet chili sauce. Enjoy!

3. Easy Filipino Style Egg Noodles (Pansit Canton)

You know you're Filipino if you love this! any day! Any noodles lover would love this!

Ingredients:
1 pound noodles (pansit canton)
1 tbsp oil
1 lb meat, sliced in strips
1 large onion
1 cup snow peas
1/2 cabbage 🥬 sliced
1 cup carrots sliced
1 cup sliced celery stalks
4 garlic cloves, minced

Sauce:
1 cup chicken broth or water
4 tbsp soy sauce
1 tsp brown sugar
2 tsp sesame oil

Steps:
Whisk the sauce ingredients and set aside.
Slice the carrots, and onion. Slice the meat into similar-sized strips.
Preheat a pan with oil and saute the meat until it's golden brown. Add and sauté the onions and garlic in the meat for about 1 minute. Next, sauté the carrots and chayote squash for about 2 minutes. Pour the sauce over the ingredients and simmer for about 2 minutes.
Add the noodles, and bokchoy, toss everything together until the noodles blends in the sauce. Ready to serve.
