Shrimp and Steak Teriyaki Noodles
Ingredients:
8 oz lo mein noodles (or spaghetti)
1/2 lb shrimp, peeled and deveined
1/2 lb steak (sirloin or flank), thinly sliced
Salt and black pepper, to taste
1 tablespoon vegetable oil
1 red bell pepper, sliced
1 cup broccoli florets
2 green onions, sliced
1 tablespoon sesame seeds (optional)
Teriyaki Sauce:
1/3 cup low sodium soy sauce
2 tablespoons honey or brown sugar
2 tablespoons rice vinegar
1 tablespoon sesame oil
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 teaspoon ginger, grated
1 tablespoon cornstarch + 2 tablespoons water (for thickening)
Directions:
Cook noodles according to package instructions, drain, and set aside.
In a bowl, whisk together all teriyaki sauce ingredients except cornstarch slurry. Set aside.
Season shrimp and steak slices with salt and pepper.
Heat oil in a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat. Add steak and sear for 2-3 minutes until browned. Remove and set aside.
Add shrimp to the same pan and cook for 2 minutes per side until pink. Remove and set aside.
Add bell pepper and broccoli to the pan and stir-fry for 3-4 minutes until tender-crisp.
Pour in the teriyaki sauce. Once simmering, stir in the cornstarch slurry and cook until thickened (about 1-2 minutes).
Add noodles, shrimp, and steak back to the pan. Toss everything to coat evenly in the sauce.
Garnish with green onions and sesame seeds. Serve hot!
