Easy yet delicious - Homemade Hummus
Ingredients:
- 1 can (15 ounces) chickpeas, drained and rinsed
- 1/4 cup peanut butter or tahini
- 2 tablespoons lemon juice
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1/2 teaspoon ground cumin
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 2 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil
- 2 tablespoons water
Directions:
In a food processor, combine chickpeas, peanut butter, lemon juice, minced garlic, ground cumin, and salt. Process until smooth, scraping down the sides as needed.
With the food processor running, slowly drizzle in the olive oil and water until the hummus reaches your desired consistency. Adjust seasoning to taste.
Transfer the hummus to a serving bowl and spread.
Serve immediately with pita bread, crackers, or vegetable sticks.
