****Chicken Adobo with oyster sauce - favorite Filipino dish back home
Ingredients:
2 Ibs chicken
6 cloves garlic
1/3 cup low sodium soy sauce
4 tablespoon oyster sauce
1/4 cup vinegar
1 teaspoon black peppercorns
1/2 cup water
1 can sprite or lime soda
3 pcs bay leaves
1 tablespoon cooking oil
2 tablespoon brown sugar
Steps:
In a large bowl, add garlic, soy sauce, oyster sauce, vinegar, peppercorns, sprite, sugar and bay leaves. Marinate the chicken at least 30 minutes or overnight for better flavor.
In a large pan, add oil and fry the chicken. Add oil if needed. Save the marinade juice. Take out excess liquid from the pan and save it. Make sure Let the chicken brown on all sides. Then, pour back the mixture and the liquid. Add water and let it boils. Once boil, allow it to simmer in low to medium heat until the chicken is tender. Remove from heat. Serve on top of rice. Garnish with green onions. Enjoy!

****Barbecue Skewers- Filipino Style
This is a Filipino style barbecue (skewer). Tender juicy meat with tangy and sweet flavors.
Recipe:
1/2 cup soy sauce
1/2 cup lemon juice or vinegar
1/2 cup ketchup
3 tablespoons dark brown sugar
2 tablespoons garlic powder
1 teaspoon ground black pepper
2 teaspoons salt
1 can lime soda or sprite
*3 pounds meat of your choice (chicken or pork)
Steps:
Add all the marinade ingredients. Mix well. Cover the bowl and marinate your meat of choice for at least 3 hours. Best to marinate it for 24 hrs.
Left over marinade can be use for basting. Warm it in a pan to thicken the sauce. Brush it to your meat while grilling. Serve with rice and coleslaw or pickles. Enjoy!

****Easy Filipino Style Egg Noodles (Pansit Canton)

Ingredients:
1 pound noodles (pansit canton)
1 tbsp oil
1 lb meat, sliced in strips
1 large onion
1 cup snow peas
1/2 cabbage 🥬 sliced
1 cup carrots sliced
1 cup sliced celery stalks
4 garlic cloves, minced
Sauce:
1 cup chicken broth or water
4 tbsp soy sauce
1 tsp brown sugar
2 tsp sesame oil
Steps:
Whisk the sauce ingredients and set aside.
Slice the carrots, and onion. Slice the meat into similar-sized strips.
Preheat a pan with oil and saute the meat until it's golden brown. Add and sauté the onions and garlic in the meat for about 1 minute. Next, sauté the carrots and chayote squash for about 2 minutes. Pour the sauce over the ingredients and simmer for about 2 minutes.
Add the noodles, and bokchoy, toss everything together until the noodles blends in the sauce. Ready to serve.
