CHOCOLATE WHIRLIWIGS
1/2 cup shortening
1/2 cup sugar
1/2 cup brown sugar
1/2 cup peanut butter
1 egg
1 1/4 cups all-purpose flour, sifted
1/2 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. salt
1 (6 oz.) pkg. semi-sweet chocolate chips
Preheat oven to 375°= degrees F
Cream shortening, sugars and peanut butter thoroughly, add egg and beat until light and fluffy. Mix and sift dry ingredients and add to egg mixture. Roll dough in two oblong sheets, 1/4-inch thick. Melt chocolate chips and spread on dough. Roll like a jelly roll and chill in refrigerator for 10 minutes.
Slice 1/4-inch thick and place on ungreased cookie sheet.
Bake for 8 minutes.
