Sizzling Chinese Pepper Steak with Onions

Ingredients:

1 lb flank steak, thinly sliced against the grain

2 tablespoons soy sauce

1 tablespoon oyster sauce

1 tablespoon hoisin sauce

1 tablespoon cornstarch

1/2 teaspoon black pepper

1/2 teaspoon sugar

2 tablespoons vegetable oil

2 bell peppers (1 red, 1 green), sliced

1 large onion, sliced

3 cloves garlic, minced

1/2 cup beef broth

1 tablespoon rice vinegar

1 teaspoon sesame oil (optional)

Sliced green onions and sesame seeds for garnish

Directions:

In a bowl, mix the sliced steak with soy sauce, oyster sauce, hoisin sauce, cornstarch, sugar, and black pepper. Let marinate for 15-20 minutes.

Heat 1 tablespoon vegetable oil in a large wok or skillet over medium-high heat.

Add the beef and stir-fry for 2-3 minutes until browned. Remove and set aside.

Add remaining oil to the wok. Toss in sliced onions and bell peppers. Stir-fry for 3-4 minutes until slightly tender but still crisp.

Add garlic and cook for 30 seconds until fragrant.

Return the beef to the wok, pour in beef broth and rice vinegar. Stir everything together and cook for another 2-3 minutes until the sauce thickens slightly.

Finish with a drizzle of sesame oil, if using. Garnish with green onions and sesame seeds.

Serve hot with steamed white rice or noodles.
