🍚 French Onion Butter Rice

Ingredients:
1 cup long-grain white rice
2 tbsp butter
1 large onion, thinly sliced
2 cloves garlic, minced
2 cups chicken broth (or vegetable broth for a vegetarian option)
1 tbsp soy sauce
1/2 tsp salt
1/4 tsp black pepper
1/4 tsp dried thyme
1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese (optional)

Instructions:
1️⃣ Sauté the Onion:
In a large skillet or saucepan, melt butter over medium heat. Add the sliced onion and cook for 8–10 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the onions are soft and caramelized.
2️⃣ Add Garlic & Seasonings:
Stir in the minced garlic, salt, pepper, and dried thyme. Cook for 1 minute until fragrant.
3️⃣ Cook the Rice:
Add the rice to the skillet and stir to coat it with the butter and onion mixture. Toast the rice for 2–3 minutes.
4️⃣ Add Broth & Simmer:
Pour in the chicken broth and soy sauce. Bring the mixture to a boil. Once boiling, reduce heat to low, cover, and let it simmer for 18–20 minutes, or until the rice is cooked and the liquid has been absorbed.
5️⃣ Finish & Serve:
Remove from heat and fluff the rice with a fork. If desired, stir in grated Parmesan cheese for extra flavor. Serve warm.
