Creamy Shrimp in Garlic Sauce
Ingredients:
1 lb large shrimp (peeled and deveined)
2 tablespoons olive oil
4 tablespoons unsalted butter
4 cloves garlic (minced)
1/2 cup white wine (optional, or use chicken broth)
1 cup heavy cream
1 teaspoon lemon juice
Salt and freshly ground black pepper (to taste)
1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional, for a little heat)
2 tablespoons fresh parsley (chopped, for garnish)
Freshly grated Parmesan cheese (optional, for serving)
Bread (optional, for dipping)
Instructions:
Cook the Shrimp:
In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium-high heat.
Add the shrimp to the skillet in a single layer and cook for 1-2 minutes per side, or until pink and opaque. Remove the shrimp from the skillet and set them aside.
Prepare the Sauce:
In the same skillet, melt the butter over medium heat.
Add the minced garlic and sauté for about 1 minute until fragrant (be careful not to burn the garlic).
Add the white wine (or chicken broth) to the skillet and let it simmer for 2-3 minutes to reduce slightly.
Make the Creamy Sauce:
Stir in the heavy cream, lemon juice, and red pepper flakes (if using). Let the sauce simmer for 3-4 minutes, or until it thickens slightly.
Season with salt and pepper to taste.
Combine the Shrimp and Sauce:
Return the cooked shrimp to the skillet and toss them in the sauce, coating them well. Let it simmer for an additional 1-2 minutes to heat the shrimp through.
Serve:
Sprinkle freshly chopped parsley over the shrimp and sauce.
Optional: Serve with freshly grated Parmesan cheese and some crusty bread on the side for dipping into the sauce.
This creamy shrimp in garlic sauce is perfect as a main dish, served with pasta, rice, or just with bread for dipping. It’s rich, flavorful, and sure to satisfy your cravings! Enjoy!
