Hoisin Sauce
Ingredients:
1/4 cup soy sauce
2 tablespoons peanut butter
1 tablespoon honey
1 tablespoon rice vinegar
1 clove garlic, minced
1 teaspoon sesame oil
1 teaspoon chili paste (such as sriracha)
1/4 teaspoon five-spice powder
Directions:
In a small bowl, whisk together the soy sauce, peanut butter, honey, rice vinegar, minced garlic, sesame oil, chili paste, and five-spice powder until smooth and well combined.
Transfer the mixture to a small saucepan and place it over medium heat.
Cook the sauce, stirring constantly, until it begins to simmer and thicken slightly, about 3-5 minutes.
Remove the saucepan from the heat and let the hoisin sauce cool to room temperature.
Once cooled, transfer the hoisin sauce to a jar or airtight container and store it in the refrigerator until ready to use.
